Damn that bridge.

There she is—old Cortez, sitting low and rusted like a barnacled jawbone, groaning one last song before the state sends her to hell. That span’s been the artery of the working class, the gateway to home, and now she’s on the chopping block, set to be replaced by some sterile sky-slicer with no memory, no grit, no give.

And today of all days, the Longboat drawbridge jammed again—some toothless mishap in the gears or maybe just spite from the sea gods. So here you are, hold full of snapper, ice melting, guts stinking, and tired enough to eat your own boots… forced to swing around the whole damned island like some lost pleasure cruiser from the North.

The sun’s low, beer’s warm, and the diesel’s spitting blood. You can see the dock, smell the food from Tide Tables, and hear the dogs barking near the fish house—and yet you’re still out here, circling like a shark with no teeth.

This shirt ain’t about the fish. It’s about the insult. It’s about the bridge that raised generations of watermen and now dies under the boot of progress. It’s the last salute to a steel relic that never cared who you were, only that you worked hard and brought the boat home in one piece.

Gone soon, but not quietly.

Wear it like the salt you bleed.
