CCC Gives Back initiative highlights the real people who make this village what it is—its storytellers, its characters, its legends.

Our first honoree is Kelley – “The Last Call Legend.”

 Kelley’s blood runs briny with Cortez grit and a splash of good rum. Her family carved their place in the salt-soaked bar and restaurant life of the village long after most could stomach the hours.

Kelley earned her stripes behind the bar at the infamous local bait shop. A place where sunburned fishermen, locals with stories longer than the docks, and more than a few pirates with bar tabs older than her gathered nightly. With a mermaid laugh loud enough to rattle a beer glass and a feisty fire that could set the whole harbor straight, Kelley kept the story rolling ‘til the lights went out. 

Then came Helene and Milton—names spit like a curse in Cortez. They tried to drain the soul from the bait shop, but no one could erase the legend of Kelley. She poured drinks like gospel, slung jello shots like cannon fire, and told every sorry soul who tried to test her to sit down or shove off.

She wasn’t just a bartender. She was the tide that pulled everyone back, the mermaid queen of midnight, the one who could outlast, outdrink, and outlaugh the whole damn dock. And even after the bait shop was snatched away, the village still knew: when the music faded, when the bottles ran dry, when the last call came—Kelley was the one standing tall with salt on her skin and fire in her grin.

The Last Call Legend. Cortez made her. the local bait shop raised her. And no one—not Helene, not Milton, not anyone—will ever silence her sea-soaked roar.

To honor her impact, we’re giving Kelley $10 from every shirt sold.
